A comfortable and traditional self-catering gîte (4-5 persons), in a remarkable setting.
Set on the ground floor of a lovingly restored Quercy barn, built in the style of the region. It has a two acre private garden, half enclosed with stone walls and features a stone built Gariotte in the yard. The gîte contains old beams and exposed stone walls throughout.
The property is set in a tranquil country hamlet, convenient to all local amenities. The village of Lalbenque (with shops, banks, cash dispensers, chemist, tennis court, swimming pool and doctors) is 4 Km away, and the medieval town of Cahors is only 15 Km away.
There are miles of local walks or bike rides including the “Santiago de Compostela pilgrim trail” (known as the GR 65) which is 1km away. We also have bikes to rent for your convenience.
Accommodation:
A living room with a large, wood burning, stone fireplace.
A fully fitted kitchen including oven, freezer and dishwasher.
2 bedrooms, one with a bunk bed and a pull-out bed and the other with a double bed.
Bathroom with shower and 2 washbasins.
Separate toilet.
The gite also has a washing machine, iron and ironing board, television and DVD player.
Maps and local information are freely available.
Cot and high chair for a baby can be supplied free of charge.
Heating: Electrical heating system and original fireplace.
There is a large terrace with barbecue and garden furniture for outdoor eating.
ACTIVITIES :
-near CAHORS and ST CIRQ LAPOPIE, village classified overlooking the Lot (2nd most visited site in the Lot).
- Rocamadour, Gouffre at Padirac , grotto of Pech Merle, Montcuq, gorges de l ' aveyron...
-Two valleys offer the delights of water : Canoe-kayak on the Lot and Célé or take a tour boat on the river Lot.
-Other sports : Horse riding, caving, climbing, walking...
